For my backpacking confidence, this securly holds the alcohol stove fuel. No leaks! Perfectly accurate pouring. Easy to use. Durable. Light weight. I have two sizes and each is 100% great!

This is a well-designed fuel bottle intended for storing and pouring fuel. The information on the bottle indicates its use for alcohol or kerosene. It is not meant to be pressurized. The wide mouth makes it easy to fill and see the recommended fill line and the pour valve securely closes to prevent leakage. The narrow pour spouts will prevent spills when filling a stove. This is probably the best made fuel bottle available.

Easy to use and, what is also important, easy to refill! The latter function is often overlooked, with funnels being essential bits of kit if you want to refill fuel bottles from widemouthed supermarket fuel bottles without spilling the stuff all over the place.

Headline pretty well sums it up. This bottle and pour spout is much easier to use than the soda bottle or HEET bottle I was using before. Pouring fuel into the Trangia burner is far easier, it won't come open when inside or strapped to the outside of my pack. This bottle is STURDY, I don't worry about puncturing it like I did with the soda bottles. The seals are meant for alcohol use, so no concerns about a seal on a soda bottle going wonky and spilling fuel(aka my coffee and non-crunchy pasta) when miles from civilization either.Possible downside is weight. I'm not lugging the kitchen sink into the back country, but I also don't do long hikes and I'm not cutting the handle off my toothbrush to save 0.3 grams. If that's you, the soda bottle is probably a better bet. These bottles will also work with gasoline and kerosene. US law changed and so this kind of bottle can't be advertised for gasoline use anymore, but it's exactly the same bottle from before the law change, and is still used with kero and gasoline in the rest of the world. YMMV, this is not medical or legal advice, insert standard disclaimer here, etc etc.One last thought, the .3l bottle has been great for single day or overnight hikes and is of course the lightest. Longer than that and I'd want a bigger fuel bottle. We like our coffee and tea and boil a lot of water. If you're just heating up coffee water or something on a day hike, then as long as the O-ring seal in your burner cap is good you probably don't need to carry any extra fuel at all.Five stars, wish I had bought it sooner.Edit: Just bought the 1L version. Should have bought it when I bought the 0.3l version!

Solid Fuel bottle. I had read review where the plastic was thin, but it is pretty stout. Mine is the .3L which equates to about 10oz and is the size you would want for backpacking using a trangia, unless you are doing extended trips. It will hold Denatured Alcohol, gas, or kerosene. While not stated, I would assume this would be safe for most any petroleum product, but I know that diesel is stored in yellow containers so that it is not mixed up which may be why they do not list it and other products. The valve is very good. I like that it screws down to put pressure on the seal and that makes it virtually spill proof while stored and free flowing when in use. It also has a metal ring around the threads to keep them from warping. It adds a little weight if you are going for lightweight, but it adds to the durability. The valve has two spouts so that it can vent. This is good and bad. With the free flow design, if you tip it over all the way, it will come out both sides if the fuel level allows. If you have more than half a bottle you will want to open the valve before you start tipping it and only tip as far as needed. If you tip it all the way, it will come out the top spout until a vacuum is formed and it starts sucking air. The other option is to keep your finger over the top spout. This is not a big deal, it just takes a little common sense or some experience to figure it out. In the directions on the bottle, it does show depressurizing the bottle before tipping it over. On a hot day, this is definitely a good idea or you may have fuel coming out with some force and have a mess. The red screw top can spin all the way off, so be careful not to lose it. It shouldn't be that big a deal since you don't need to screw it that far for it to operate correctly, but just a heads up. I would hate to lose it in the middle of a trip and have the possibility of fuel leaking everywhere. It also has a small loop as part of the valve to attach it to something. I don't know that it is trustworthy enough to hang the bottle off of, but it might be. It could definitely be used to help secure it so that it cant jump out of a pocket or something. This valve will not fit other types of fuel bottles well. Some people have forced it and made it work a time or two, but the threads do not match up and it ends up leaking.

This is good engineering at work. Good design and very handy. The pour spout is awesome. I got 2 of the big ones for extra gas on motorcycle trips and I got 1 of the small ones for spare alcohol for my stove for backpacking/road trips. The bottles are lightweight and sturdy. When pouring, if you tilt the bottle too much it might start to leak through the white threads of the screw-down button. I suggest to pour at a shallower angle or get an o-ring and put it over the threads between the screw nut and the base. That way when you depress the button the o-ring seals the gap. This would be the only con I could find with these bottles. Otherwise I love them.
