I installed this on a 1993 Jeep Cherokee. I used it on a NP231 then a NP242 transfer case. It was easy to adjust to have the shifter line up in the correct position with the bezel positions. I was impressed by the build quality. It was clean and didn’t have any burrs. The bushings and adjustable linkage were tight and should last for a long time without trouble.This was a better value than similar items from other online retailers. It came with the transfer case lever, adjustable linkage, the transfer case shift lever side bracket, and the bolt to hold it down.

Does not allow for full shift from 2 hi to 4 lo. The angles are off, there isn't any curve to account for the change in distance with moving shift linkage from 2hi to 4lo. Does not work for jeep xj/np231 transfer case. Do not buy.

This shift linkage is a huge upgrade from the original. The heim joints are such a better design than the original ball socket linkage that came with it. It bolted right on the same way as the stock linkage which made it an easy upgrade. I instantly noticed how much smoother it felt than the clunky old stock linkage. I am very happy with the fit, adjustability, and overall quality of this part.

This transfer kase linkage kit for the Cherokee is outstanding quality. I am hard-pressed to see why you would need anything more for the price. I doubt you would want to we all know the linkage is super weak and kind of clumsy and a stock jeep. This however, is overbuilt just the way off-roaders like um. I’m glad I took a chance on this because it’s a great product and a great price. Five stars!

If you are among the many who have NOT changed the weird, hare-brained Z-linkage for the NP230 transfer case in a TJ, XJ, MJ or ZJ, FIX IT.Part is well made, installs right in, the moving articulations grease well, adjust fairly easily.

This linkage is the perfect repair and upgrade for the poor factory linkage. A lot of times they bind up and fail, but this fixes all those problems. My son's 99 XJ has a lift on it and it caused the linkage to bind up and not work all the time. This fixed the problem and is much more reliable.

I can shift into 4 wheel drive out on the mail route if I'm patient.I can fiddle with it until the OEM linkage lets me put the Jeep into gear.This part fixed that issue!It's a good thing that something so simple can improve on the shortcomings that the engineers at Jeep left me with.I love that people work at making things better!This is a good part...simple and easy to swap out.You may need to do some fiddling with the adjustment until you get it to work right...but when the adjustments are done, it's a stable and long lasting solution.The price on this is good, too.I think that all of these linkage kits are pretty similiar....so this would be a good option if you're doing this swap.It's nice to not have to fiddle around with your gear selector when you get in a jam and need to kick the old XJ into 4 wheel drive.I have enough to worry about out on the mail route.
