Won't tighten to the table. The middle bit that's meant to hold the cake won't stay on the gears. The gears CONSISTENTLY eat your yarn. The tension are won't stay upright. And the gears come apart so it won't wind correctly. I could have gotten a decent lunch instead I just got angry at an over priced peice of plastic disguised as a yarn winder.

You need to really pay attention, wind carefully and control the tension of the yarn as you wind. It easily becomes knotted or drops below the spool if the tension drops at all and yarn can drop off and tangle underneath. Removing the yarn is tricky. With practice it does work fairly well but won't make an entire skeins worth.

I got this yarn winder because I thought having yarn in a ball format would prevent knots at the end of my skein when crocheting. I am super disappointed in it. It is too small to wind a whole skein of yarn. Plastic piece that holds the yarn as it is winding kept popping off the base no matter how tightly I twisted it in place. At one point my yarn got caught in the gears and it was a pain to fix…honestly not sure how it got caught where it did. Towards the end of winding the ball got messy. The tension arm serves no purpose because I got better results holding the tension by hand. I will probably never use this again and just leave my yarn in skein format.

The yarn guide doesn’t stay out which causes the yarn to wrap around the gears. Not great quality and I’m not sure it will last very long

i had to superglue the tension arm so it would stay up. also it’s quite small, which i knew when i bought it, but i am definitely going to be looking for a bigger one in the future. the main issue, of course, is the tension arm. does not stay up and will fall down as soon as a bit of pressure is on it. if you have already bought this: pull the arm out all the way, flood the bottom with superglue, and keep holding it until the glue dries. let dry for a while before using it again.

Got this for my daughter as a gift she says it's easy to use and really liked it. Would buy again. Believe it or not she is a beginner and this product made this easy for her to work.

Needed to get skeins turned into balls for crocheting excited when I saw the winder and also Pom Pom makers. Christmas garland here come the Pom poms.

The piece that allows the yarn to be fed through keeps dislodging causing you to have to stop, re-lock it, then continue. Very frustrating as it causes the yarn to then become entangled in the spokes. Will likely be returning.

Was hopeful I could somehow make it so I could take my large yarn and make it into a big ball. Unfortunately you have to make like 4-6 small balls.

Der Wickler ist okay. Allerdings ist es keine vorherragende Qualität.Er läßt sich nur an relativ dünne Tischplatten befestigen. Einmal fest angeschraubt drückt sich die innenliegende Metallschraube gegen den Plastikknopf zum Festdrehen.Der Garnhalter ist ist durch Herausziehen fixierbar; allerdings löst er sich wieder sehr schnell, das Garn rutscht nach unten und verwickelt sich im Zahnrad. Ich benutze den Garnhalter nicht mehr, sondern halte den Faden auf der entsprechender Höhe mit der linken Hand und drehe mit der rechten Hand die Kurbel. So wickelt er dann entsprechend gut.Der Zubehör wie Pomponschablonen und Plastiknadeln ist ganz nett, hat aber nichts mit dem Wickler direkt zu tun. Anleitung ist auf englisch mit undeutlichen Fotos.
