Decent for the price. These are not high quality and the injection molding of the plastic is poor with the plastic parts not snapping together. The retractable shrouds are also the incorrect diameter for shrouded banana jacks and will retract rather then go into the ring in the jack Rear stack able opening is not the correct size and is far thicker then it should be placing the metal too far inside the receptacle. There is no notch, hole or slot to solder the wire into making assembly a guess on wire placement. If you need to quickly make up a small number of test leads this will be fine if finicky to assemble especially in large quantities. These are fine for one offs or hobby scale quantities but I can't imagine having to assemble many of there with the guess of wire placement finicky wire insertion with wire gripping spike and having to super glue the plastic together.

If you know what you're doing these make top-notch leads. I was skeptical about the retractable sheaths, but they work great. The stacking sockets hold plugs securely. For maximum awesome use fine-stranded, 14 gauge wire with silicone insulation. How to build your leads:1) Strip 5mm of insulation from the end of your wire and twist the strands together. Tin the exposed wire, then apply some solder to the base of the metal plug. Make sure to heat it until the solder wets to the surface.2) Place your tinned wire against the solder puddle on the plug and heat with your iron until you see the solder flow together. Remove the iron and hold the wire steady until the solder solidifies.3) Assemble the housing. Make sure everything snaps fully into place.Done!

I think this set is worth it for around $10. Easy to use and put everything together. They don’t have a specific location to solder so I would recommend using helping hands. I’ve been using these with the Gear It 14AWG silicone tinned wires. Coworkers are liking them. I’ve purchased 3 times already and might get more. Extremely useful for using with GM probes. Definitely will try to add more photos later.

Looks nice and has that sliding cover, but:1. The cap that holds that thing together is week and easy to come off.2. there is no connection point to the metal clip! It is only touch contact - so it is not for solid connections and cannot bear any serious amperage. May be good to do a low power testing probe?? idk, for what else, a toy?

So it can't stack another 4mm banana plug as advertised, the hole is too small, it'll crush the caged part of the banana plug and be worthless elsewhere. With the safety tip on or off (I took one and remove the safety rubber tip, and ground off the metal nub for it).. it is still is too long to work on the commonly found banana jacks / binding posts on the power supplies you find on Amazon, and even older ones I have.Ignoring the stacking issue, they do work on the deeper larger binding posts and work just find on meters with the recessed safety jacks. If you look at the picture I attached, to the left is all the binding post/jacks I have and one of my fluke DVMs these work on. I'm sure they will work on similar DVMs.To the right, are the binding post /jacks they do not work with. Importantly these are typical found on today's Amazon power supplies. The caging that causes the friction fit is too far back, even knocking off the rubber tip and it's nub didn't shorten it enough. At the center at the bottom of the picture is three banana plugs.Left is a standard one that works on all the jacks.Middle is one of these plugs I knocked off the rubber and it's nub for testing. And on the right, is one of these plugs as shipped. You can see how far back the caging is, and what is cause the issue for me, for now commonly used binding posts/jacks on bench power supplies and other shallow panel banana jacks.Really wanted to like these , and needed them to make leads for my power supplies. But totally useless.

I think these are unnecessarily complicated and expensive for banana plugs. Came with no instructions and I could not figure out how they wanted you to attach wires so I ended up just soldering them to the center hollow so they are no longer stackable. Would not have bought these if I could have found simpler good quality banana plugs on Amazon. Don't try wire larger than 14 gauge.

These are by far the best plugs I've seen in my admittedly limited experience. Compared to the other ones in the picture, they are about twice as heavy, weighing 6 grams all assembled. The metal plug alone weighs 4g, whereas the other plugs in the picture are 3.3g all assembled."Does it feel heavy? Then it's expensive, put it down." Weight certainly translates to sturdiness in this case. The cheap plugs feel extremely flimsy. These are solid, the retractable sheath and spring feel surprisingly sturdy too. I wanted some higher quality plugs and did a lot of looking around before ordering these. The main thing I was worried about was the sheath causing problems, but it works great. When plugging these into shallower jacks (like the cheaper colored ones in the picture) the sheath covers the exposed plug as intended. And it doesn't get in the way of plugging it all the way into deeper jacksAll in all I can't see any reason why not to recommend these. Versatile and high quality
