I've been using his walking stick as an alternative to a cane as I undergo therapy for a weaken hip. It is extremely comfortable to use, very sturdy and stylish as well. When I used to walk into business meetings looking like a febile old codger with my cane, now I stride in looking like Gandolf or perhaps Moses getting ready to part the Red Sea.Using this walking stick has transformed me from a weak old fart to a badass ready to lay waste to anyone foolish enough to stand in my path.Even after my hip heals up, this stick will be beside me forever.

I haven't had a chance to use it yet because of the weather, but this is a very sturdy walking stick and very nicely created, I purchased the one for tall folks and hope it's not too tall for me (6'1"). The main reason I got this one was because of the sturdiness of the stick. I'm a big guy and I felt if were starting to take a tumble and tried to use it to catch myself, I wouldn't have to worry about this one breaking.

Nice walking stick! It could be just a bit thicker at the bottom though but since it's hickory, it will flex but not splinter or break so I don't forsee any problems.

A great hickory walking stick.I had to raise the hole for the leather strap, and add the tape you use of baseball bats, but strong and beautiful are the 2 words that come first to mid.

I have had this stick for a while now and used it all over, including in the Colorado outdoors. It's fantastic, sturdy as can be. I have a history with back surgery and injury to my spine, and I have found this to be much better for me than a cane. The workmanship on the stick is very fine for the most part and its finish has held up without issue in mixed weather, even out in the snow.I like it so much I keep trying to talk my wife into getting one - she doesn't need a stick, but I feel like everyone could enjoy having a stick if they got one like this!Edit: Just a followup, it's still doing great for me. Trust this stick, I do.

This hickory hiking staff is a really nice hiking staff. In the couple weeks I've had it I've hiked a dozen miles within, through woods and dales, up hills and down. It is solid. It is tall. It is dark-stained and knotted with character, and has heft and feels friendly in either hand, stumping, swinging or stalking, and with its variegated surface it carries well in wet weather.I can find no single defect in this staff and, thereby, fully recommend this hiking staff to those discerning few who appreciate such things.Bravo, Whistle Creek.

We bought this hiking staff to use in a pastoral inauguration. We looked high and low for a staff. Christian bookstores didn't carry them and the ones available through Drama/Theatre online stores where too "customy". Then we found this one! The price was perfect and the variety of heights was great. When the item arrived it was so much more beautiful than we could have imagine. The wood is amazing! The tiny picture on the site does it no justice. Great quality and workmanship. I would recommend this a million times.

Got my stick today. couldnt have come at a better. My knee blew out today and this has been such a great help and its better on my back than a cane. Its much lighter than I thought it would be, but it holds well. Its also very pleasing to they eyes with a nice wild flower engraved in the top. I would Recommend this to anyone who needs a stick on a budget.
