Bottom line: this thing won't shoot straight consistently; it is not quiet; and you can't return it or get any compensation. I would not buy it again. The thing is pretty solid, and if it shot straight, it would be worth the $150. It is not super loud. I measured it at 78.5 dB at 14' away. My Gamo "silent cat" (which Gamo must have meant sarcastically, since it's very loud) is at 81dB 14' away. But if you're shooting this thing a lot, you would want earplugs. This is not an airgun you can shoot without the neighbors hearing it loud and clear. Most importantly, though, it simply will not shoot straight. I didn't clean the barrel, but I did put 180 pellets through it, and it WILL NOT group. At 30 yards I have 5" groups. And about one in eight pellets flies off somewhere; sometimes missing the paper entirely. That doesn't happen with the springer Gamo I have. And I know how to shoot well enough. With an actually accurate gun, like a bolt action .22, at 50yards I have rarely have more than a 1" group. The spring type air rifles (metal spring, not gas like this one) do NOT like to be held tight. You have to hold them loosely and consistently, and then you can get them to shoot consistently. But with this Crosman, it doesn't matter how I hold it, it simply will not perform consistently. I tried three types of pellets and about four different approaches to holding it.The scope is surprisingly nice for something that comes free with it.The thing is also really heavy. It's heavier than my .270 bolt action rifle.I would not recommend this thing. I don't know if all gas spring air rifles are nearly impossible to get to shoot straight, like this one, but I suspect that they are. Get the cheap metal spring Gamo or Crosman.

The Crossman Ultra is not accurate at All. I tried different air scopes, and each time I shot it it always shot in a different place. I barely got it in the same place even tough I did hit next to the bullseye. Next, time I shot it it was two inches off. It would never shoot in the same place 50scopes in my lifetime with no problem even if I didn't adjust the scope. I have sighted in probably 50 scopes, and never had this problem. I WOULD NEVER BUY IT AGAIN,AND SUGGEST THAT YOU DON'T BUY IT, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T RETURN IT. A VERY DIS-SATIFIED CUSSTOMER.

Do not purchase this pump pellet rifle for a youth. It is too heavy, and absolutely too hard to pump. If a 40 year old male has a hard time trying to pump it, a 11 year old certainly cannot. So hard that it could be dangerous if loaded. And beware before you purchase, because it is non-refundable via amazon. I feel totally ripped off and mad because this was supposed to be my grandson's christmas gift. And after opening it with excitement, we are stuck with a worthless gun and out $200+.

If the pellet does not rattle losely in the cartridge the VERY weak tabs will break.Essentially you must buy Crosman pellets or replace cartriges every 20 rounds or so.if you want to use standard pellets the i recommend loading individual by hand in breech. The scope is less than adequate and the rifle is more consistent just using the iron sights.Once you put a decentscope and the correct type pellets it does shoot very well.just expensive to figure out and fix.

The clip for the rifle is cheap and malfunctioned on the first set. Amazon refuses to accept returns because of their gases policy. There are no gases in this item. The seller was not helpful at all. Feels like a scam.

Rifle does not cycle pellets. Regardless in which pellets are loaded...clip can only be placed in one direction. Tried different ammo. Nothing goes through the barrel.

Great powerful gun, scope is easily adjustable and spot on. Definitely recommend if you got bird or rodent problems, could probably kill a raccoon if you hit it right. And it came earlier than expected which is always a plus.
