This I a pretty simple rubber circle that is about the size of your rims and attaches to your snow chains to make them fit more secure. These helped as my snow chains were getting loose. It's sometimes squirrelly to attach but even my snow chains give me trouble sometimes

This tire chain tensioner does exactly what it’s supposed to do. And does it very well. It’s a good value and I highly recommend this for anyone who regularly uses tire chains or for those who have tire chains on hand for that just in case time to keep these with your chains. You won’t regret it. The only negative I can think of, but I didn’t subtract a star because this will be the case no matter which manufacturer you buy these from. They will all need to be replaced about every 5 years or so. If you use them regularly then you’ll know. But if they just set in your chains bag on standby for just in case you’ll want to replace them probably every 5 years or so because they will dry out and get cracked and brittle and lose their elasticity. My advice is to at least check on them every 5 years or so to be on the safe side.

Great replacement for your chain spider if you are missing one. It seems to be fairly common to loose them, so it is also nice not to have to buy an entire set if you only need one. Although to confess here, I do wish I had just gotten a set and then use the one I have left over as a spare...but I actually hope to never need any of them...LOL.The "S" hooks seem a tad small to me, but I guess it depends on the chains you put them on. I do suggest trying them before just putting them with your chains and storing them away until you need them. But they do seem well made otherwise. There are different sizes, so depending on your tire size, be sure you get the correct one.
