It sounds nice and hot at full tilt and cleans up well with the guitar's volume control. I do wish DiMarzio made these with vintage correct butyrate bobbins. The cream color of the plastic used does not match the trim on my Les Paul well. These are more of a band-aid color with a satin finish, and the cloth tape around the outside fits loosely at the ends and will surely catch dust inside between the ends of the bobbins. I'm considering another pickup swap based on looks alone!

Seems like this pickup was from a blemished stockpile. This pickup was smashed into its retainer and had an assembly defect (the bobbins were not aligned properly) But the outer clear case was undamaged, which tells me this left the factory this way. This is unacceptable and will not be using GearNutz again.Beware with this distributor, you might be getting products from the reject pile at Dimarzio.

My '79 SD-100 pup died on me; replaced it with newer of the same-and I'm still impressed. Whom am I fooling...I'm just partial to a "strat"- dimarzio configuration.

Product is exactly as described, and a long time leader in the electric guitar pickup market. This was installed on a 1978Gibson SG, and it plays just like new.
