The construction is simple and sturdy enough for “light duty” use. I mounted the whole frame to a leveled cinder block foundation so it doesn’t fly off in high winds. I’ve reinforced the corner braces with thicker gage metal and added more to the upper sections to keep the frame from swaying. I also opted not to use the tarp as it was just a temporary roof for the package deal. I ended up using aluminum roofing from Menards. The lock to the door could be a little better. I added washers to the pivoting lock section to keep it from jiggling itself loose. Seems to work but still can be better. It’s hard to find locks for the size of the pipe on the frame.During heavy snow season, I brace the center a-frame with a 2x4 to keep the weight of the snow distributed. But I do make sure to brush off the snow as often as I can to keep the stress off the roof. I also wrap 3 sides of the housing and the open roof section with thick mill clear plastic to lessen the draft and snow drift into the pen. That said, we painted the frame black and added some solar lighting to aid with ambient light. We did run power to it for lighting, water warmers, cameras, and heaters. Chickens and ducks are comfy even in the wettest or coldest (zero-degree) of winters.Inside coop in pics was also an Amazon purchase.

I have owned this for about 2 years now, I was going to do a review on it but decided to wait so I could give a honest review. Well 2 years The first year no issues what so ever, about a week after the first year I had to replace the tarp. I will say it was better then I thought. I will say about middle of going into the second year of having this coop I have had to replace the wire. All and all I would say it has lasted a good amount for what paid. I decided to go with the 1/4 hardware cloth to replace the chicken wire because I felt better with hardware cloth for an extra 111.59 and that was 100ft of cloth. The frame is still in great condition. It was fairly easy to put together, I did have to look at the instructions once or twice but all and all it was very easy. I replaced the tarp with a cloth type from harbor freight for like 21.00 dollars so I can honestly say I feel Ive gotten my moneys worth from this coop. I live in Florida so not many tarps last very long and The wire well its not the best wire and A good weed eater eats it up. The wife used my weed eater and got a little to close to the pen. So not really manufacturers issue there. Door does not drag and still lined up correctly. I have done no adjustments to the frame at all. So its a good quality frame and wire really was not that bad.

Don't bother getting this product if you expect it to protect your pets anywhere that gets snow. We got lucky and the top was stopped from crushing our ducks by their coop and our chickens had been put in for the night. We had hoped getting them these runs would keep them safe but we're just glad it didn't cost us any lives. We got about 3 inches of snow over night and both coops failed completely, not an error with one but safe to say ALL the runs are 1 weather event from clapse. Dozens of welds broke across the whole structure and most of the poles bent and buckled. I don't even have enough parts between the 2 of them left to fix 1. And don't worry, I've been searching and you can't get parts for repair anywhere! They don't sell them, no one does. Which is a shock since it seems like replacing these parts constantly might be a good source of revenue.Long story short, don't waste your time and just make it yourself if you want it to last a winter.

The instructions are ok but could use better directions or labeling of parts. Different types of poles were labeled with the same number/letter and we had to move things around before moving forward with each step. Poles are click in place type connectors which makes it easy. Diameter of poles makes them lower quality. Zip ties would not hold up very well due to material. Also, the height on the sides was shorter than expecting. Overall the frame is easy to assemble once making sure all the parts were in the right place but the chicken wire is difficult with zip tying it on there. This is also not a heavy duty enclosure and may not hold up depending on what it's being used for. I bought it with the purpose of using it for a chicken run once my chicks are old enough.

Overall, very flimsy. The chicken wire needs about a thousand zip ties to secure it to the frame. The door is also very flimsy and difficult to install as the mounting brackets flex when you tighten them down. To get the brackets to work you have to crank on the bolts to the point they almost snap. Lastly, the tarp that goes over the top is thin and doesn't have enough eyelets to properly secure it to the frame.

I was kind of expecting this to be a little bit more flimsy than it was. Directions weren't amazing, but my daughter and I put it together relatively easily. Please keep in mind that the geometrics aren't accurate so we initially tried to put the ends on the wrong direction. Once we got that figured out, it went together pretty easily. The door is a bit flimsy, and the handle is relatively pathetic so mine is closed using bungee cords because I'm trying to keep in cats not just chickens. In that theme, because my cats are escape artists, I wound wire around all of the existing poles to secure the chicken wire better than zip ties. I know firsthand the zip ties get dry and crack and I didn't need any escaping felines! It was a colossal pain in the neck, but I feel very confident that my cats won't be able to push through any of the areas on the chicken wire. I also "sewed" shut any overlapping seams with wire to make sure they wouldn't pull apart with a curious nose or claw. I liked that the chicken wire is plastic coated so it wasn't so abrasive when I was working with it . Kind of wish that the tent poles it came to secure it to the ground were a little bit more robust but I will just have to purchase my own to make sure it doesn't make into a kite in the spring and fall. So far so good!
