This level 2 EV charger (32A, 240V) with NEMA 14-50 plug offers a balance of speed, convenience, and portability for EV owners. One of its biggest strengths is its fast charging capability, delivering up to 7.7 kW, which significantly reduces charge times compared to level 1 chargers. The adjustable current settings allow users to optimize power usage, and the time delay function helps take advantage of off-peak electricity rates. Additionally, the 25ft cable provides great flexibility, making it easier to charge from different positions. However, while it is plug-and-play with a NEMA 14-50 outlet, homeowners without a dedicated 240V outlet will need to install one, which adds extra cost.On the downside, this charger lacks smart features such as wifi or Bluetooth connectivity, meaning no remote monitoring or app control. While this isn’t a dealbreaker for many, those who prefer to track the charging status from their phone may find this inconvenient. Compared to higher-end chargers, it is limited to 32A, meaning it charges slower than 40A or 48A models, though this may not matter for EVs that don’t support faster charging rates. Another potential drawback is weather resistance, as some models only have basic IP54 protection, making outdoor use less ideal without additional covering.Overall, this portable EV charger is a strong choice for most home and travel users who want fast, adjustable, and reliable charging without smart features. It is ideal for budget-conscious buyers who don’t need app connectivity but want a long cable, adjustable current, and time delay functionality. However, those seeking faster charging speeds, smart monitoring, or a more weatherproof design may need to consider other options. Despite its limitations, it remains a solid mid-range choice for EV owners with a NEMA 14-50 outlet, offering a great mix of performance and affordability.

So far this has worked great, no problems. I did the wiring myself with advice of an electrician. I ran the wire through the attic and down the wall in the garage, not the most fun but was satisfying when finished, worked out well. I’ve been shutting off the breaker when not in use. Charges my PHEV in about an hour. I’m happy with the purchase.

This is a good EVSEI tested it on a Tesla (with a non provided CCS to NACS adapter) and it charges reliably to the stated current 32A.I didn't notice any excessive heat or charging current issue. Connectors seem robust and work well. I do wish they had a NACS version instead of CCS, but with an adapter it's fine. The LCD display is useful, shows basic charging statistics, allows checking that everything is fine without having to get into the car.It comes with a wall mount for the charger and cable, and a useful fabric pouch to store it in the trunk. Great to have around as a mobile charging unit, or to leave at home as a base station.Overall a great accessory for my car!

This is a solid level 2 EV charger at a great low price. 32 Amps so requires a 240V outlet. Charges non-Tesla EV's easily and quickly. Love the long cord and digital display which are both very handy. No app support so very simple charger but does have current and delay functions. Great built quality at a great price. What a deal and what a find.

It maxes out at 32A (provided you have at least 40A of service), so it's not the fastest charger on the market, but where this charger shines is in the price / performance ratio. At right around $150 bucks (less, if on sale), there's no arguing that this is very easy on the wallet.Luckily, it doesn't sacrifice on features, as it has a nice little LED / LCD screen that shows everything that's going on with your charger. Also, there are no apps to data mine your address book (or to give you problems), it all happens right on the charger. Yay!Build quality is excellent, especially given the price point, and installation is a breeze. All you need to do is install the mount on the wall as well as the plug holder. 15 minutes tops, and you're done. Setup is via a single button, and it's pretty easy to figure out. Performance wise, it's excellent, and as I said, it's not the fastest, but it scores big points for how well it works vs how much it hits your wallet. In all, I have no complaints and nothing but praise for this nice little charger! 5 stars.

I ended up getting a 48amp charger installed, but this was helpful to use beforehand. Impressed with the overall build of the cable and components. Please upgrade your Nema outlet to the higher quality ones, such as for a dryer generally, are not built to run continuous draw for 8+ hours.

This J1772 L2 charger charges up to 32A. it's not the max for it's 14-50 plug (50A), but good enough for a lot of folks. I don't have a car that takes J1772 but attached a NCIS/Tesla adapter and was able to use it on my Tesla Model X at home. After charging for one hour at 32A, the cable is slightly warm to the touch. So I wouldn't about overheating to charge overnight until full.

I needed a low-cost Level 2 charger to get me up and running while I researched a permanent wired-in unit, and this certainly met my needs. It worked well plugged directly into a NEMA 14-50 receptacle as well as with a 14-30 receptacle using an appropriate adapter. However you use this, make sure you set your maximum charge current to match your house wiring!I like this because it doesn't need (and can't use) an app to make it work or change the maximum charge current. (Yeah, using an app to change settings is convenient, but I don't want to have to worry about it losing support in the future.)I have a direct-wire charger on order but I'll still be hanging on to this one to keep as a backup.
