Featuring an exclusive, built-in voltage detector and LED work light, the Milwaukee 2236-20 Clamp Meter for HVAC/R is ideal for a range of service applications, from working on boilers and heating systems to measuring the contact temperature of ductwork, motors, and chillers. Part of Milwaukee's Test & Measure line, this clamp meter effectively tests the current of electrical panels and conductors.

Use Fewer Tools, Save Money, and Work More Easily with this True-RMS Tester
The perfect tool for the HVAC/R service technician, the 2236-20 includes all the features you need to complete even the toughest plant or field jobs. It features a large, 1.3-inch jaw opening for measuring up to 750-MCM cable and a thin jaw profile for easy wire measurement in panels or bundles.

Rated CAT III 600V for safety, this versatile tool provides current measurement to 600 amps AC, 600 microamps DC for flame rectification, and voltage measurement to 600 AC/DC. Resistance measurement to 6 kohms combines with testing for continuity and capacitance, while K-type thermocouple input allows for contact-temperature measurement.

A high-contrast, best-in-class, white-on-black display and backlight ensure easy reading, and an LED work light improves visibility, even in dark, enclosed spaces. For added comfort and control, the 2236-20 also boasts rugged over-molding for grip and durability. Last but not least, non-contact embedded voltage detection protects the user, and a five-year warranty offers peace of mind.

Hvac professional of 20 years and this meter does 99.9% of what I need it to do. Works great and feels solid in hand. I did swap the leads out for a set that better suits my needs. Nothing wrong with the ones it comes with. I just use needle point leads.

pros:-voltage detector-heat probe-amp clampcons:-does not come with a case, even meters half the price comes with one-flat out lies about the actual price, the sale prices are the price you would pay in the store-nicer if it came in 1000 volt

Terrible quality meter, would never order a meter from Milwaukee ever again. The meter arrived faulty on delivery, and took phantom readings with no leads even attached to the meter. Another meter arrived to replace it and that one was faulty as well. There must be no quality control at all for Milwaukee's Multi Meter department because this is a joke. When you move the meter you can hear and feel springs within the meter vibrating. The metal within the closing of the meter clamp was oxidized and chipped on delivery, and I could go on with a whole laundry list of issues.Do not buy this meter!

got this for a friend who is a A/C tech. We live in Suriname and these specialty products are very expensive here. So since I can order from the US via a shipping agent in Miami, this item cost us about 30% cheaper than buying it here. Works very good, other techs wanted to borrow it. So that is always a good sign

I thought the Milwaukee name would save me from getting a toy meter. But that's what it is. If you need a real tool save your money for a Fluke. It works but it's very slow and feels like a fake tool.

Capacitor tester takes ridiculous amount of time to register 20+ uF caps. I'm talking about up 20 seconds. Ohmmeter kept beeping continuity when ohmming compressor. Ammeter is not accurate at all. Junk. Bought a Fluke 902...high quality there.I have owned approximately 10 multimeters. Milwaukee hvac is the poorest quality I have ever had. This meter makes fieldpiece look high quality.

The LCD display is the brightest and easiest to read of any clamp meter I have ever used(fluke, amprobe, uei, fieldpiece). It has a solid housing and is easy to grip and clamp in tight spaces. The LED work light built on the back is really helpful for working in dark areas. I just recently used it to troubleshoot temperature controls in a -10F degree walk-in commercial freezer and it had no problems with the exposure to the extreme cold. The only small negative is that the when testing for continuity on a circuit(which really just checks for
