worked for 4 to 5 starts, then stopped working. Sent it back and will order a new one. Hopefully it was just a bad one?

Starter in my '84 Mercury 25XD finally took a dump. Rebuilt the original, still had issues. It the armature that failed. Need a whole new one now.Picked this up as the price couldn't be beat. Simple unbolt / bolt. Exact replacement. Operates perfect. I can not complain.Even gave it a rigorous starting test by starting, shut it off, starting, shut it off..... test to make sure she's good to go. Not one falt. Cranked the engine over like a champ every time. No mods or alterations needed.Now the test of time begins.

This was a perfect fit for an old 25HP Mercury. Easy to install and worked first time tested. Continues to work as expected.
