Product features:
Rhino Beer Refractometer is an optical device that measures the refractive index of a sample and displays the results in degrees Brix and wort gravity,
ranging from 0-32% and 1.000-1.130 respectively.Rhino Beer Refractometer is a good choice for replacing the hydrometer and is the best choice for homemade,
winemaking, and other purposes. It can also be used to measure the sugar content of vegetables, fruits, etc.
This model has an automatic temperature compensation feature that increases measurement precision, which is performed at 50-86°F (10-30°C) instead of 68°F (20°C).

Product details:
Rhino Beer Refractometer is a true Brix or wort-specific gravity refractometer.
We especially provide a portable holster for carrying out convenience.
For calibration, distilled water is needed and we provide the water bottle.
This optical refractometer is processed with a Teflon spray coating.
It is wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, electrostatic prevention and anti-stick.
Rhino Beer Refractometers are particularly easy to use and very sturdy.

This is the second refractometer of this type that I purchased, and I will not buy this type again. I returned both. Does not read beer SG below 1.025. I know this because I have a glass hydrometer (old school!) and can compare readings. This refractometer simply does not work.

Works as well as a SG Hydrometer. Only works for prefermentation liquids (not calibrated for alcohol). Still need a hydrometer for post pitching liquid. Super handy on brew day!!! Used to measure work in multiple stages of collection. Also useful for measure SG during sparge. I brewed a bigger beer so my SG never went below 1.015, but for a lighter beer would be more indispensable to prevent over extraction. Used on my mash, sparge, pre boil, post boil (hot) and post boil (68F) after evaporation. Super slick, nice case, comes with a nice carrying case, lens wipe, dropper. Came pre calibrated which was nice, but also allows for calibration. Just remember to use enough fluid (3-4 drops) to cover the flat lens to get an accurate reading. Only used on brew day as this does not work once alcohol is present. Well made refractometer and kit.

I think the teflon coating makes this refractometer stand out and also protects the instrument very well.

The reason I bought this is that accepted wisdom indicates that 28 Brix = 1.120 S.G.None of the other refractometers have this equivalency, so I don't know where they're coming from. This one looks accurate.I've checked equivalency between Brix and SG with various of my own beer worts and this refractometer seems to be spot-on.The device seems to be well made and is a significant improvement over the last one I bought several years ago. I like the PTFE coating - it gives it a touch of class. The main fault I have with this is that the manufacturer decided to put their company logo in big dark ink on the transparent screen that feeds light into the refractometer. This has the effect of making the image very dark and not too easy to view. Why do this? I can see no good reason for this at all! It's so bad that I will try to replace the screen with the one from my old refractometer.

I have used this refractometer for several months and worked well. I was very satisfied. If you want to buy a wort test meter less than $30, this one is a good choice. Compare with the hydrometer, I use refractometer more frequently. Every time when I throw away the beer left in the test tube, I feel it was a big waste. The good thing is the refractometer only needs two drops of beer to get the same result.

Works great! The field of vision is clear and easy to read. The distilled water bottle and leather case in the attachment are very practical. It only needs a few drops of solution to measure, not too much waste.

comfortable holding feeling, very clear adjustable reading window. The Teflon Coating make it looks new longer and last longer.  I use it a lot of times for brewing different kinds of beer and cider. Great refractometer and great price!
