  • Humbucking 6-string Guitar Pickup with Ceramic Bar Magnet - Black

It’s not just a pickup, it’s a weapon of tonal Armageddon. The Nazgûl was designed with a single purpose; for intense high-output-chug heavy punch-you-in-the-chest ruthless distortion. The tone is heavy and aggressive but it also retains articulation and provides the precise pick attack that is necessary for high-output metal. The Nazgûl gives chords heavy saturation and produces a lightning fast response to your amp. Perfect for all high output metal needs in which sonic obliteration needs to be accomplished.

Theses have become my new favorite pickups. Very high output good for any dirty tone. I’m bare bones so I didn’t do any fancy wiring just one pickup to volume and tone pot. Very easy to install

This pickup is super High output. Compared to the dimebucker its even higher in my opinion. I still like the dimbucker a bit more to be honest. If you dont like high treble this pickup is not for you. But I still do love this pickup. the name is very fitting. My only regret is not buying the set because it does not match my neck pickup at all. But thats just a personal complaint.

I absolutely love the Nazgul. Brutal and beautiful. Very aggressive, yet maintains amazing tone. I play very aggressive metal and this surpassed my expectations and needs. I highly recommend it!!!!

This pickup shines in drop d or lower.. it handles very well with thrash in e standard as well. It’s is described by some as pokey.. It’s tight and highs are sharp but not brittle or fizzy.. it splays best with lot of gain.. not a fan of the clean but I always use the neck for cleans doesn’t do mild breakup to well either but that’s not why I love this pickup I love it’s tight sharp high gain attack

The nazgul bridge pickup is amazing. Excellent for metal, the palm muting crunch is what I was expecting after reading reviews. I also have the black winter bridge and although its cleans are better the nazgul bite is uncompromising.

This pickup arrives in awesome manufacturer branded packaging. The pickup is easy to install, with a standard free ended bar with supporting frames and spring supported screws. The sound of this pickup is phenomenal. Punchy, in your face and built for as much gain as you can throw at it.

So I did a little modding on a cheap flying V copy I own and I can honestly say this pickup, for solos and lead work more than anything, has been killer both in a studio situation and playing live. Would recommend to any metal lover looking for that sweet crackle and pop that makes and lead work fly!

I'm not trying to "school" anyone, but I want to explain why I think these are probably the best pickups ever made for guitarists who play aggressive styles and why this is now my #1 pickup for life. I've played rock/metal guitar for 27 years and have recorded and performed live professionally. I've tried many pickups including several Seymour Duncan, EMG and DiMarzio upgrades. There are a lot of things that sound great when an instrument is playing alone that end up being lost characteristics when other instruments accompany them. Less is the case with more open and airy music, but this is absolutely a fact with aggressive music, so the key to a great sounding band or mix is good instrument separation. In aggressive music, guitar pickups that produce a lot of warmth or boominess on the lower notes will have all that warmth swallowed up by a bass, leaving the lower registry of the guitar unheard or ironically thin and weak sounding. The Nazgul has a super compressed clear voicing that is extremely present and balanced where there is no difference in the presence and cut of an open low E drone or a mid pitch melody or a screeching hi solo. A true test of a pickup is how good your guitar sounds with a band and even with the most earth shaking sub toned bass, the guitar's lows stays present, mean and focal sounding with a growling characteristic about them. This pickup's compressed narrow spectrum is why it both leaves plenty of room for and is not interfered by even the most thundering of drums and bass, yet sounds neither thin nor narrow, but beastly. That's why it was originally made for low tuned 7 and 8 string guitars. Its accomplishment was so great that a 6 string version was demanded by they public. This pickup achieves that perfectly balanced cutting growl that you want. I really think it's the best. Enjoy!

The dark lord came and took me to guitar filth heaven! Coupled with Sentient pu, SX Poison Scorpion now goes from ringing mellowness to dirt loaded filth. Great sound with very precise response. Fantastic through Marshall DSL 40C, loads of grit and loud, but able to handle edgy ringing notes :)

this review is purely audio related, Seymore Duncan has a long history of quality so keep that in mind. :)On high notes, say top/high note half of the highest three strings I really like the sound. On the low three strings there is a definite scream just like the movies attached with the low note. Found it pretty cool at first but it does not sound right for soundgarden/Alice in chains sort of songs. It's not particularly a heavy pickup, and their website does say this. It's a "crisper" pickup. It's not muddy at all.I think it would sound great for metal/thrash which of course was what this pickup had in mind. It may sound better on a different guitar, and Seymour Duncan's website details what sorts of woods it should go in. I thought it might sound good in my Chapman Guitars ML1 Alder body but not really. I still rate it 5 stars though, because it's a huge improvement over the stock. Looking forward to trying it in a mahogany body.
