This slow feeder has worked wonders for our new lab/ heeler puppy. She used to eat so fast so she could run and try to see if she could steal my other 4 chihuahua’s food. She would just gobble her food down at the speed of light! lolOne day I accidentally spilled her bowl of food and by the time she had rounded up each kibble I realized that the others had plenty of time to finish their’s as being chis they don’t get near as large of a serving.Right then and there I knew I had to get one of these slow feeders and I am glad I chose this one. It was just a little too large for her bowl so I had to take about 3/8” off all around and then it fit perfectly!Hers is a stainless steel bowl and the suction cups immediately grabbed hold and stayed firmly in place.It being a soft silicone means she can easily rut around and negotiate how to get the kibble but it stops her from inhaling the food. It's a bit bigger than my bowls, but I didn't want to cut down in case I get different ones. With the suction cups on bottom it really stays put.Says it is silicone, and feels like it too. I really like that this one suction cups to the bottom of the bowl. It makes it removeable, but keeps it in place while they are eating. I ordered for a puppy I'm getting, I already have a bowl, this doesn't quite fit the bowl. The feeder is a little bigger than the bowl. If puppy needs the slow feeder, I'll just cut it to where it will fit, likely the snowflake edges. Not a huge deal since I didn't know the diameter of the bowl when I ordered this. It's nicely flexible and while there are a lot of nooks and crannies in it, it is pretty easy to clean. Easier if I had a dishwasher, but apt doesn't have one. I like that it's pretty thick, yet still flexible. I think it'll be a great slow feeder if the puppy ends up needing a slow feeder. My other older dog has a slow feeder, though it doesn't slow him much, it still seems to keep his stomach from getting upset eating to fast.

This product worked so good my dogs didn’t eat at all. I got this because my dogs have been dropping food all over the place and I’m tired of cleaning up after them. I thought it would make them eat slower and not make a mess. However, they completely refused to eat because this device was in the bowl.It fits in a large food bowl (photo). I tried to put it in a bowl with slightly tapered sides and even after I cut it down it still didn’t sit right.I’m sure this works well for dogs that typically inhale their food. Mine don’t inhale it they just throw it all over the floor and eat it later when/if they want it.I didn’t remove stars because it’s no fault of the product, it’s just my dogs being persnickety.

Overall, good quality and doesn't slip around inside the bowl. It needs to be just a bit bigger in diameter to go all the way to the edges of the bowl. The depth is perfect for larger kibble.

Initially, I liked this slow feeder insert—especially the material and how strong the suction cups are. They stick well, and the extra material is easy to trim if you need to adjust it.But heads up—it’s not great for cats. The dividers are just too deep, and my cat struggled to get her kibbles out. Also, if you’re using an automatic feeder, it might not work well. The tall dividers block the food, so most of the kibble ends up on one side.So, great for dogs and regular (big) bowls, but not ideal for cats or automatic feeders. It’s also a more affordable alternative to full slow feeders, which is a bonus. Plus, I like that you can use it with your pet’s favorite bowl.

Exactly what I was looking for! My senior Boston Terrier has become quite the little piggy in her old age and I needed a solution so she wasn't inhaling her meals. I ordered this specific slow feeder insert because I already have a nice set of elevated ceramic bowls that I wanted to continue using. This slow feeder was easily trimmed to the size of my pups food bowl. The suction cups on the underside are perfect, they keep the feeder in place but it can be easily removed when necessary with a gentile tug. It does help her slow down at meal time, but she did get frustrated at first so I found it was best to keep an eye on her for the first few feedings while she got used to it.It is made of high quality, thick, durable silicone but the end fins were also easily trimmed with sharp scissors to fit her bowl.I am happy with it and would recommend to anyone looking to help their pet slow down at feeding time!

Love the idea of a one size fits all bowl slow feeder. This product fits standard dog bowl, not a small dog bowl. The quality is well made with great suction cups on the bottom to keep its place. It functions well in terms of slowing down faster eaters.
