I am suspicious of the claims of these being carbon steel. They are very brittle and nearly every one I have used has broken, usually right at the point where it is impossible to back it out and start over with another. Granted, I was inserting them into resin prints from a 3D printer, not wood, but the resin is soft enough that they shouldn't crumble. I should have listened to the other reviews. If you are slow and careful and treat them very gingerly, you CAN use them. But if you have the option I would probably look elsewhere, unless you are just putting them into very, very soft wood.

These threaded inserts help me replace hinges for a lazy susan cabinet door. The new hinges had holes that didn't exactly align with the original hinges. With these inserts, I was able to make the hole larger and offset to the side of the original holes. Moreover, when it was done, it was more secure than the original install.I recommend this purchase.

These are not attracted to a magnet. Very misleading item discription. I needed carbon steel for it's strength and durability.

the parts and pieces work great , plastic case was damaged when it arrived , so had to find anothe case to hold the parts

Horrible. They break. All of them. Doesn't matter how gentle you are with them, this crap metal breaks when threading into wood.
